Bell Bottom Piers

For all concrete slab on grade foundations we use a time tested method best known as Bell Bottom Piers. There are many advantages for this method over others, including better durability and stability over time.

Our Typical Process

home_crack

Free home evaluation
Our foundation experts will come to your home to conduct a free evaluation of your foundation and develop a plan of action for addressing your home's unique problems.

pier_layout

Plan the pier layouts
We then lay out the pier locations, avoiding important features around your home (gas and plumbing lines, electrical boxes and A/C units), and carefully move plants to a consolidated area for preservation during repair.

hole

Pouring and installing the piers
We start by digging a 2’ x 2’ hole at each pier location, then drill the pier shafts, and excavate the 20" bell bottom footings. Steel rebar is added to each pier for strength prior to pouring the concrete. Finally, we clean up around your structure and remove all excavated dirt.

leveling

Level the structure
After the concrete cures for 7-10 days we carefully level your structure, checking windows, doors and floors as we raise it back to its original grade.

Testing and clean-up
To wrap up, we test the plumbing for leaks and use a cement slurry to fill voids created during the leveling process, thus minimizing future settlement problems. We re-install displaced landscaping and clean up one last time.
