Anchor has finished up working on your home, and it is looking and feeling good. Doors latch correctly, cracks in sheetrock are closed, and the slope in your floors is gone! During the process of Anchor fixing your home, you probably used BuilderTrend to follow along with the updates, photos, and videos provided there.
You might be needing to get photos or documents off BuilderTrend so that you can have them on your computer, but you don’t know how. It is always a good idea to have these documents handy in case you decide to sell your house or if you just want to stroll down memory lane and remember your fun times with Anchor.
We use BuilderTrend daily and know *most* of the ins and outs. This article will give instructions on how to get your documents, photos, and videos off of BuilderTrend and onto your computer.
How can I get documents off BuilderTrend and onto my computer?
There are a few different kinds of documents that might be in your documents folder. Pier Placement Diagram, Pier Design, Approved Proposal, and Warranty Certificate are few examples. Not all jobs are the same, so no two Documents folders will look exactly alike either.
It is important to note that you might have a Pre-Sale Documents folder and a Post-Sale Documents folder. Pre-Sale Documents will have things such as pier designs and proposals. The Post Sale Documents folder will have your Warranty Certificate inside.
Let’s say you want to download your Approved Proposal. We will use that as an example to get you started. Once you know how to do this, you can download any document from BuilderTrend.
- To get started, log in to BuilderTrend.
You’ll be on your home page at this point. Just for kicks, let’s say your name is Guy Generic and you live at 1234 Password St. But when you are doing this for yourself, it should be your name and address showing.
- Once you are here hover your mouse over Files, and then scroll down to select Documents.
- Now you are in the Documents Folder. Then you will double click on the sub-folder you are wanting documents from.
For this example, since we are working on getting the Approved Proposal, you will click Pre-Sale Documents. It will look something like this.
- Click Approved Proposal (or other desired file) once and then click Download.
At this point, the document is on your computer in your Downloads folder, and you can then move it and save it wherever you want.
How can I get photos off BuilderTrend and onto my computer?
Some people like to keep their photos for their records. It’s not only fun to see the before and after, but it’s also helpful to keep those after photos so that you can look back on them in the future to make sure your house is continuing to be stable. It’s always good to be able to have photos to reference for the future.
Getting photos off of BuilderTrend is a little bit different than getting documents.
- From your home screen hover over Files, scroll down, and select Photos.
It should look a little bit like this, but with your pictures:
- Once here, click on the photo you want. From there you will click the Download Icon on the top right corner of the photo.
That’s it! It’s now on your computer in your Downloads folder. From here you can move it and save it wherever you want so that you can find it easily later.
How can I get videos off BuilderTrend and onto my computer?
You might also want to keep your videos as well as a way to reference them back in the future. Unfortunately, there is no way for homeowners to download a video directly from BuilderTrend.
If there is a video you are dying to have, we have a *poor man’s solution*, but it’s a little bit funny. Our suggestion is to play the video on your computer and simultaneously take a video of it while it is playing with your own phone.
That’s the best we can come up with, even though it feels like recording songs off the radio with your tape deck like we did in the 80s. But if you’re a tech genius and can figure out another way to do it, we would be happy to have you share!
